Amid the latest easing of Covid-19 restrictions in both countries, Betting Shops through out the two countries could finally reopen yesterday to every punter’s delight.
Various measures are still in effect in the betting shops to ensure minimum risk of spreading the virus, with a set number allowed at any point (dependant on the size of the shop). The number is capped to 8.
There are also a limit on how long you can spend in the shop, with chairs, live sport streams being removed to ensure a quick entry and exit. A maximum of two gaming machines can be in operation at the time. A customer is limited to two visits a day with shops forced to close at 8 PM.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “I’m sure it will be a huge relief for those business owners who have been closed for so long, and for everyone else it’s a chance to get back to doing some of the things we love and have missed.”
