Kindred Group has taken the decision to keep its services closed to Dutch residents until a licence is awarded by the Dutch regulator gaming authority Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the group said yesterday in a press release.
On September 30th, the group had already announced that the company would cease services to Dutch residents on a temporary basis due to recent policy changes communicated by the Dutch Ministry of Legal Protection on September 20th.
Kindred Group plc will submit a license application later in Q4 2021 and the group looks forward to being awarded an NL license in Q2 2022.
The group said they prepared for the Dutch licensing process under the Remote Gambling Act, and has been working on the preparations for a Dutch licence application including successful completion of the required external audit.
On October 1st, the Netherlands opened its regulated online gambling market and only ten operators obtained licenses in the first round of KSA approvals.
A number of operators, which have not been granted a licence to provide online gambling services in the Netherlands, have blocked the Dutch market. Kindred is among other companies that blocked Dutch customers with the opening of the market, the operators LeoVegas, Betsson, Entain and Casumo followed the same steps.
Kindred said in the press release:
“The group is prepared for the Dutch licensing process under the Remote Gambling Act, and has been working on the preparations for a Dutch licence application including successful completion of the required external audit.
