Michael Jordan Assumes Advisory Role with Sportradar

NBA legend Michael Jordan has signed an agreement with sports technology company Sportradar as Special Advisor. The former player played practically his entire career with the Chicago Bulls, where he was six times champion of the biggest basketball league on the planet.

Jordan will play an important role within the planning context, providing Sportradar with strategic guidance and advice. The NBA star legend will also help with key business initiatives such as product development and marketing activities.

The Swiss-based company hopes to improve its position in the US market later as a successful initial public offering and listing on the Nasdaq Global Exchange.

The basketball legend was already related to the company before signing an official agreement. He was a regular and important investor in Sportradar, followed by Mark Cuban and a few other successful executives in the sports world.

Jordan will be directly involved with the Board of Directors, under the responsibility of CEO and founder Carsten Koerl, in his advisory role.

Jordan commented: “I invested in Sportradar years ago because I believed in the vision and passion that Carsten and the rest of the team had for transforming the sports technology industry. I look forward to having a formal role in the company when its next chapter begins”

Sportradar announced that it intends to use Jordan’s popularity and “experience in establishing impactful business partnerships” in the sports industry to reach new heights.

Sportradar has relationships with some sports industry giants such as the NBA, National Hockey League (NHL), Major League Baseball (MLB), NASCAR and the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) and others sports betting companies.
